Theatre trip

This is the wonderful story of Elzéard Bouffier, an imaginary but entirely believable shepherd who for many years devoted himself to planting trees in a vast area of Provence and turned what was once a desolate wasteland into an area full of life and greenery. The author's story begins in 1913, when he meets the solitary tree-planting shepherd, and ends in the same region more than thirty years later, when he visits it after the war and finds it transformed into an orchard.
