Our history
In 2005 we got together a group of parents who wanted to find an educational space in accordance with our way of understanding life and childhood. Little by little we shaped the project until the moment came when we created a space where our children could grow and learn in freedom (see the educational project). It was like a seed: we had found fertile soil and we watered it and watered it... above all we watered it with the illusion of making a dream come true.
And so the seed sprouted, and little by little it grew and acquired experience and knowledge in educational and organisational matters since, as a project self-managed by families, we have gone through various forms of coordination and decision-making over the years. From this base, which only the experience of 20 years of achieving objectives gives you, is that we constituted ourselves as a non-profit association with the aim of expanding the critical and dynamic social base that we are, where we can share and build thoughts and opinions that enrich the pedagogical and cultural knowledge of the Sierra and its surroundings.
Mission and vision
The Asociación Crecimiento Libre LA SEMILLA is a non-profit organisation registered in the Registro de Asociaciones de Andalucía, in the Education sector, whose main aims are to develop an active education, to accompany children in the maturing of their sense of responsibility and in the connection with themselves and with the natural and social environment as well as to promote the acquisition of basic skills and the ability to respond to complex demands and to carry out diverse tasks combining skills, knowledge, values, attitudes, emotions and other resources of each person.
Currently, La Semilla Association has more than 60 members in the Sierra, which constitutes a very powerful network when it comes to disseminating and developing actions related to our objectives.
